Job Duties Include:
This position will work in our Quality Laboratory and will be responsible for quality control testing of paints and specialty chemical products. This includes
- Conduct final quality approval testing of all production products
- Performs quality testing of liquid properties such as viscosity, density, color, etc
- Responsible to ensure all production is in specifications before approving for release
- Advises production on any in-process adjustments when needed
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment per ISO procedures
- Maintains the laboratory to high standard of housekeeping and 6S excellence
- Manages relevant quality control and assurance documentation and COA requests
- Interact with factory, sales and product development on quality improvement activities
- Cross train on color matching and physical performance paint testing equipment and be able to work overtime during peak business periods
Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience in a quality testing or laboratory function – chemical manufacturing industry preferred
- Knowledge of quality equipment and testing procedures and basic chemistry
- Aptitude – skills we need are – detail oriented; accurate; organized; good math and reading skills; good computer skills; good communicator; quick and willing learner
- Ability and desire to multi-task and work in a fast paced, team environment
- Attitude – we need a high personal work ethic and quality standards – enthusiastic, hardworking, trustworthy, and dependable
- Proven problem solver and ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
